OUR MISSION
To source high-quality Colombian coffee while upholding ethical trade, sustainability, and economic empowerment for farmers.
TRECE
is a creative blend of the Spanish words tres (three) and the letter C (seh in Spanish), representing the three C’s of our brand—Colombian, Coffee, and Company. Our name embodies our commitment to sourcing high-quality Colombian coffee while upholding ethical trade, sustainability, and economic empowerment for farmers.
Colombian coffee is world-renowned, yet many farmers face economic instability, unfair wages, and limited market access. At Trece, we offer a solution: every bag of coffee represents our commitment to fairness, sustainability, and quality.
But Trece is more than just coffee—it’s a movement focused on people-first sourcing. We are honored to work alongside the farmers of Piendamó, Cauca, Colombia, who are at the heart of everything we do—because great coffee starts with the people who grow it.
Our Founding Story
Juan Rivera - CEO & Founder of Trece
Trece was born from a simple yet powerful realization—one rooted in personal experience. Growing up in Colombia, I witnessed firsthand the challenges rural farmers face, especially the instability caused by displacement and fluctuating market conditions. My family has worked with multinational companies, securing stable contracts, but many farmers don’t have that security. Without direct agreements, their income remains unpredictable, leaving them vulnerable.
Everything changed when my team and I had the opportunity to compete in a university start-up challenge. It was a chance to bring our vision to life, combining our love for coffee with a mission to create real impact. After months of hard work, mentorship, and refining our idea, we won 2nd place, securing the seed funding that helped turn Trece from a dream into reality.
Trece is more than just coffee—it’s a way to give back, celebrate the rich culture of Colombia, and connect people to the farmers who make every cup possible. Of course, we provide delicious, 100% pure, non-GMO coffee, but we also want to ensure every purchase makes a difference.
We built Trece on three core pillars:
Fair Wages – Farmers are paid directly and transparently.
Ethical Trade – We eliminate middlemen, ensuring farmers receive what they deserve.
Sustainable Farming – We invest in long-term practices that improve both livelihoods and coffee quality.
We invite you to try Trece and be part of this movement. Great coffee starts with the people who grow it.
De Colombia, Para El Mundo.
Our Commitment to Quality & Sustainability
We're dedicated to providing premium coffee that comes from ethical sources and encouraging sustainability. Establishing a direct and equitable trade relationship with farmers is our goal in order to guarantee that they are paid consistently and fairly. To preserve the integrity of our products and the people who grow them, we place a high priority on non-GMO coffee and ecologically friendly production methods.
-
Our Arabica beans are 100% premium and come straight from Cauca, Colombia. This area is renowned for its high-altitude farms, rich volcanic soil, and perfect climate, all of which add to the unique flavor profile of our coffee.
-
To guarantee ethical sourcing and just pay, we collaborate closely with small-scale Colombian farmers. In order to give farmers a larger share of the rewards for their labor, we want to remove middlemen. By establishing enduring connections, we establish a sustainable supply chain that promotes local economic development.

Our dedication to quality and the unique variety we provide are what set our coffee apart. Pink Bourbon, Tabi, and Typica beans are sourced by Trece - Colombian Coffee Company from high-altitude Cauca, Colombia, where the soil and environment enhance their remarkable flavor. To maintain their complexity and scent, our beans are roasted in small batches, producing a cup with red fruits, caramel, and floral overtones. This gives our coffee a smooth, well-balanced flavor that makes it unique. We guarantee that every cup of Trece is not only distinctive in flavor but also helps the livelihoods of the communities that grow it by collaborating closely with growers and emphasizing sustainability.
