OUR STORY
Trece was born from a simple belief: great coffee starts with the people who grow it.
That’s why we’ve chosen to work directly with one family-owned Colombian farm. Honoring their traditions, their land, and the care they pour into every cherry.
Our mission is to spotlight their craft, share their story, and bring their coffee to life.
1,652 Meters Above Sea Level
High in the Colombian mountains, the family cultivates beans in small lots, hand-picked at peak ripeness.
At 1,652 meters, the elevation, climate, and soil create the natural sweetness and depth that define our coffee—flavors that don’t need additives, enhancements, or shortcuts.
This is coffee shaped by nature and nurtured by people who have spent generations perfecting their craft.
Why One Farm?
Because quality deepens when you pay attention.
Because consistency comes from care.
Because people matter more than mass production.
By staying small and direct, we’re able to:
Build long-term relationships
Offer sustainable pay
Support generational farming
Celebrate the hands behind every harvest
Craft coffee that reflects genuine craftsmanship (not trends)
This focus allows every seasonal rotation to shine, honoring the farm’s natural rhythms and the family’s expertise.
The Trece Journey
Trece’s story begins with our Founder & CEO, Juan, who was born and raised in Colombia. Growing up, he witnessed firsthand the challenges rural farmers face.
Everything shifted when our team had the opportunity to compete in a university start-up challenge. It became the spark that brought our vision to life: blending our love for coffee with a mission grounded in impact.
After months of refining our idea, working with mentors, and building a model rooted in transparency and community, we secured the seed funding that helped turn Trece from a dream into something real.
From the beginning, Trece has been about more than just coffee.
It’s a way to give back, uplift rural families, celebrate Colombian culture, and connect people directly to the farmers who make every cup possible.
Yes, we offer delicious, 100% Colombian, non-GMO coffee.
But we also ensure that every purchase supports the family at the farm, honors their legacy, and continues to invest in their future.
We brought this coffee to San Antonio with one mission:
to bridge two communities through storytelling, transparency, and unforgettable flavor.
Through tastings, pop-ups, and events across the city, we share the farm’s story—one brew at a time.
We invite you to try Trece and be part of this movement. Great coffee starts with the people who grow it.
De Colombia, Para El Mundo.
WHY THE NAME “TRECE”?
It’s a creative blend of the Spanish word tres (three) and the letter C (“seh” in Spanish).
Together, they represent the three C’s that define our brand:
Colombian • Coffee • Company
This name keeps our purpose at the center of everything we do.
